The Battle of Winceby: The Forgotten Battle That Changed Lincolnshire

On the 11th of October 1643, a fierce fifteen-minute battle just outside Spilsby helped decide the fate of Lincolnshire. The Battle of Winceby, now largely forgotten except by historians and a few roadside signs, secured Parliament’s control of the county and marked the rise of Oliver Cromwell.
